SDH Global Bandung: Preparing Students to Learn, Grow, and Thrive in a Changing World

The world young people will enter is changing rapidly. Technology is reshaping how we live and work, new fields and opportunities are emerging, and many of the challenges they will encounter cannot yet be fully anticipated.
Education therefore has a responsibility that goes beyond preparing students for what is known today. It should help them develop the confidence and capacity to keep learning, think critically, adapt to change, and use what they know to make a meaningful contribution to the world around them.
This belief is part of the foundation of SDH Global Bandung, which was officially launched in Bandung on August 22, 2026. The Grand Launching marks a new chapter for Pelita Harapan Group (PHG) and the Sekolah Dian Harapan network, as SDH Global Bandung becomes the 25th SDH school within PHG's education ecosystem in Indonesia.
Located within the Istana Plaza Bandung complex, SDH Global Bandung is designed as a learning environment where students can develop academically while also exploring their interests, building relationships, and growing in character. Learning spaces, laboratories, a library, sports facilities, and dedicated arts spaces are designed to support a wide range of experiences through which students can discover and develop their potential.
At the heart of that experience is the way students learn.
SDH Global Bandung implements the national curriculum through SDH Pathway, an enriched learning framework that incorporates Cambridge learning resources. The approach is designed to help students develop more than an understanding of subject content. It encourages them to build conceptual understanding, think critically, communicate clearly, collaborate with others, and apply what they learn across different contexts.
Students are also encouraged to approach learning with curiosity. Drawing on practices such as inquiry-based learning, they are given opportunities to ask questions, explore ideas, connect concepts, and consider how knowledge can help them understand and respond to real-world situations.
This matters because meaningful learning is not simply about arriving at the right answer. It is also about learning how to ask better questions, examine different possibilities, make connections, and use knowledge thoughtfully.
The educational experience at SDH Global Bandung extends beyond academic learning. Through the Head, Heart, and Hand approach, students are encouraged to grow in knowledge, character, and the ability to put what they learn into practice. Experiences in the arts, sports, robotics, technology, and artificial intelligence (AI) provide opportunities for students to explore their interests while developing creativity, communication, collaboration, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
These experiences reflect a broader understanding of education within the PHG ecosystem: students should be equipped not only with knowledge and skills, but also with the character and values that guide how they use them.
For SDH Global Bandung, preparing students for a changing world does not mean trying to predict exactly what that world will look like. It means giving them a strong foundation from which they can continue to learn and grow.

As SDH Global Bandung begins its journey, its aspiration is not simply to prepare students for the next stage of their education or future careers.
