SDH East Jakarta — Pelita Harapan Group’s Newest School: Bringing Holistic, Christ-Centered Education to the City

Jakarta, Saturday, 13 September 2025 – More than 600 parents and students gathered with great anticipation at the Grand Launch of Sekolah Dian Harapan (SDH) East Jakarta, marking a new chapter for holistic Christian education in the city.
Strategically located in Tamini Square, SDH East Jakarta is designed to serve up to 1,500 students from Kindergarten to Senior High School. As part of the Pelita Harapan Group, the school is committed to providing systemic, Christ-centered, transformational, and holistic Christian education that is also globally relevant. The curriculum follows the SDH Pathway, built on a Biblical Christian Worldview, inspired by the IB approach of formative, project-based, and problem-solving learning, and enriched with Cambridge resources, including the Checkpoint Test as an international benchmark in English.
In her remarks, Dr. Stephanie Riady, Executive Director of Pelita Harapan Group, stated:
“Every vision of education must begin with two fundamental questions: Who owns the child? And what is their ultimate purpose in life? We believe children belong to God, and education must guide them back to Him. In the Pelita Harapan Group logo, the eagle looks far ahead with sharp eyes because it is vision-oriented. Our schools will be sustained by excellent Christian teachers, graduates of UPH International Teachers College and Teachers College, who dedicate their lives to shaping students with true knowledge, faith in Christ, and godly character.”
Echoing this vision, Deny Sinaga, School System Coordinator of Sekolah Dian Harapan, shared:
“Education stands on three pillars: the family, the school, and the church. Families are called to set their vision first and then choose a school they trust to educate their children in line with that vision and mission. At SDH, children are guided by teachers who are mature in their faith in Christ, nurturing them to grow and to live according to the God-given talents and calling entrusted to them.”
SDH East Jakarta is now open for student registration across all levels (Kindergarten – Senior High School) and will officially begin its first academic year in July 2026.
