UPH Law Forges International Partnership with HGU Law

Universitas Pelita Harapan Faculty of Law (UPH Law) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on April 15, 2024 with the School of Law of Handong Global University (HGU), a top private Christian university based in Pohang, South Korea.
The MOU covers several areas of cooperation: development of joint educational programs and projects; exchange of students and/or interns; exchange of faculty and/or visiting research scholars; and participation in academic courses, research, seminars, workshops, conferences, student forums and symposiums.
UPH and HGU share a common mission of being a Christian Higher Education Institution focused on Kingdom-minded education producing graduates who are ready to serve the community with their head, hearts, and hands. Both UPH and HGU also share a commitment to fostering a strong academic environment within each respective campus.
“The MoU between UPH Law and HGU Law paves the way for collaboration in education, research, and student exchange, fostering a deeper understanding between the two esteemed institutions and enriching the learning experience,” said Dr. Velliana Tanaya, SH, MH, the Dean of UPH Law.
“We’re excited about the opportunities ahead and look forward to achieving great things together.”
Other than HGU Law, UPH Law has also established International partnership with Thailand’s Chiang Mai University (CMU) Faculty of Law and Australia’s Monash University Faculty of Law. UPH Law is the only private law school from Indonesia that is part of the Monash University Law Indonesian Alliance (MULIA). It is also one of the sixteen founding members of the Asian Law Institute (ASLI), whose membership comprises top-notch law schools in Asia.
The latest partnership with HGU Law is poised to boost the International profile of UPH Law and provide global exposure and unique international perspectives to its students and faculty — one of the key pillars in promoting and sustaining academic excellence in today’s highly competitive world.
